Commander of KHUH Bahrain meets COAS

Major General Doctor Sheikh Salman Bin Ateyatallah Al-Khalifa, Commander of King Hamad University Hospital, Bahrain officially met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Islamabad. 

Islamabad, 8 December 2021 (TDI): Major General Doctor Sheikh Salman Bin Ateyatallah Al-Khalifa, Commander of King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH), Bahrain officially met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, in Islamabad.

The two Army officials discussed in length, the matters of mutual interests, the health department and Pakistan’s efficient role during the period of the prevalent global pandemic.

During the meeting, the Pakistani COAS mentioned that the foreign policy of Pakistan primarily focuses on maintaining diplomatic and bilateral ties with the outer world, especially Muslim states.

He further said that Pakistan values its relations with Bahrain, and a strong defence alliance, diplomatic and economic ties are a priority for Pakistan.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa appreciated the support of Bahrain towards Pakistan and lauded the initiative of building King Hamad University of Nursing and Associated Medical Sciences, Islamabad.

The visiting dignitary on his part appreciated the response of Pakistan in tackling the menace of pandemic and educating the masses about Covid-19.

He also praised the role of Pakistan in the Afghanistan issue and its efforts to enlist the help of the global community for the country; on various international forums.

Major General Doctor Sheikh Salman Bin Ateyatallah Al-Khalifa also pledged to play his part to further diplomatic collaboration with Pakistan in multidimensional ways.

Whereas, the COAS offered Pakistan’s complete support in achieving shared interests in bilateral security cooperation, including training and capacity building.

The two sides also discussed the latest development in the Afghan peace process, border security issues, and necessary steps to be taken to facilitate Afghan masses during the humanitarian and economic crisis.

Both states have continued to exchange high-level talks to maintain bilateral and diplomatic ties intact. The civil-military leadership of Bahrain acknowledged special relations with Pakistan and reaffirmed their support for the country. They also wish to further strengthen their ties.
