Karachi, 30 September 2021 (TDI): The Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah met with the United States Charge d’ Affaires Angela Aggeler on Wednesday. The meeting took place in the Chief Minister (CM) House Karachi, Pakistan.

Serving as the recent example of US-Pakistan cooperation, Angela Aggeler visited Sindh’s Chief Minister Murad Ali on September 29 and reinforced the strong bilateral ties between the two states. The US Charge d’ Affairs also exhibited a commitment to identifying investment opportunities for the United States in Sindh. Besides anticipating Washington’s strengthened relations with Islamabad, Aggeler also acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.

The United States formally established diplomatic ties with Pakistan in 1947, following the country’s independence. Both states continue to work on various fronts, including stabilization efforts in Afghanistan, combating terrorism, enhancing trade and investment, and facilitating climate-friendly initiatives. Over the last two decades, the US has been one of the top investors in Pakistan, primarily investing in transportation, energy, communication, agriculture, and business process outsourcing.
