Beijing, (TDI): China and Russian Coast Guards started joint patrols in the high seas of the North Pacific Ocean on Saturday.

This joint task force follows a series of joint drills conducted between the two nations’ coast guards, which concluded on Friday.

As per the China Coast Guards’ annual schedule, a fleet comprising the CCG vessels “Meishan” and “Xiushan” participated in joint exercises with Russian coast guard ships in the Peter the Great Gulf, located in the Primorsky Region.

The drills were conducted from Monday to Friday.

These joint patrols are being conducted under the framework of a United Nations General Assembly resolution and the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean.
