Beijing, 2 June 2024 (TDI): Li Qiang, the Premier of China, met with Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, on Friday in Beijing.
Li said that since establishing diplomatic relations 35 years ago, China and Bahrain have upheld equality, and mutual respect, and strengthened friendly collaboration.
According to Li, China cherishes its friendship with Bahrain, which dates back many years. He goes on to underline China’s readiness to work with Bahrain in compliance with the important strategic direction given by both countries’ leaders.
The aim is to continuously fortify the political foundations of the two nations, promote reciprocal benefits and favorable consequences, raise the bar for bilateral ties, and improve the well-being of both people.
Furthermore, China’s strong support for Bahrain in preserving its national sovereignty, security, and stability as well as adhering to a development path suitable for its unique national circumstances was conveyed by the premier.
In addition, Li said that China was willing to work with Bahrain to advance the construction of housing, energy, and other infrastructure projects as well as programs aimed at raising people’s standard of living.
This partnership would take place within the framework of the Belt and Road’s excellent joint construction.
Furthermore, initiatives would be taken to improve trade and investment relations, strengthen partnerships in developing industries such as the digital economy and electric vehicles, and actively participate in exchanges in tourism and education.
Moreover, Li highlighted that China is ready to work with Bahrain and other Arab countries to create the “five cooperation frameworks” that will link China and the Arab world. Moreover, China hopes to make a major contribution to world peace and development while hastening the creation of an Arab-Chinese community with a shared destiny.
Additionally, Hamad emphasized Bahrain’s strong ties to China, its unwavering support for the one-China policy, and its solidarity with China in defending its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Bahrain is keen to work with China to expand the scope of cooperation and support the continuous and significant development of Bahrain-China relations. Bahrain supports the cooperative creation of the Belt and Road initiative.
Bahrain’s support for positive outcomes in the negotiations for a free trade deal between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council was conveyed by Hamad. He added that Bahrain appreciates China’s unbiased and just position on the Palestinian issue.
