Islamabad, 21 March 2022 (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi arrived in Pakistan today. He is visiting Pakistan for three days and will attend the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC as well as the Pakistan Day Parade.

Whilst here he also visited the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan. Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed his Chinese counterpart. During the meeting, the two counterparts exchanged congratulatory words.

The two Foreign Ministers will be meeting at the level of delegations shortly, as well. During the visit, a memorandum of understanding will be signed between Pakistan and China to promote bilateral collaboration in multifarious fields, including agriculture and education.

Aside from that, important regional and international issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations will be discussed. After the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers will be addressing a joint press conference which is being telecasted live on Pakistan Television Network (PTV).

48th OIC CFM

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The theme of the 48th CFM is Building Partnerships for Unity, Justice, and Development. The Summit will be held from March 22 to 23, 2022. The OIC’s Secretary-General, Hissein Brahim Taha, will address the meeting.

Aside from the OIC’s post-CFM plans, he will review the significant activities, programs, and projects of the General Secretariat. The Session will address multifarious topics as well as the activities of the OIC General Secretariat.

The agenda of the 48th OIC CFM is to evaluate the implementation of the resolutions adopted on various matters in the Islamic world.
