Beijing, 10 January 2022 (TDI): Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi called the Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mukhtar Tileuberdi. The two counterparts discussed the prevalent situation.

Chines Foreign Minister enunciated that China and Kazakhstan are comprehensive strategic partners and China will support Kazakhstan to maintain stability and curb violence at a crucial moment when the future of Kazakhstan are at stake.

He stressed that three days ago, President Xi Jinping also sent a verbal message to the Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and publicly expressed support. The gesture depicts high level of permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan.

Furthermore, China will work with Kazakhstan to implement the essential political consensus reached by the two heads of state and will provide Kazakhstan with the necessary assistance and support.

The Kazakh Foreign Minster on his part appreciated the support assured by Presdient Xi. He highlighted that the country was observing the National Day of Mourning, today. The call of Chinese Foreign Minister demonstrates China’s firm support for Kazakhstan.

In addition, Tileuberdi apprised Wang Yi about the latest developments of the situation in Kazakhstan. He pointed out that Kazakhstan has been subjected to well-planned terrorist attacks. However, the country dealt with the miscreants in a decisive manner.

Moreover, Kazakhstan will guarantee the security of foreign personnel and institutions as well as foreign investments to fulfill its international agreements and obligations.

The Chinese Foreign Minister further stated that this National Day of Mourning in Kazakhstan, China would like to pay tribute to the frontline law enforcement officers who died in the fight against violence and terrorism in Kazakhstan.

Wang Yi expressed that the chaos in Kazakhstan demonstrates that Central Asia is still confronted with harsh challenges. He assured that China as a neighboring country will maintain long-term stability and achieve development and revitalization in Central Asia.
