He remarked while addressing the China-Pakistan Trade and Business Forum which took place on the sidelines of the China-ASEAN Expo held in Nanning.

The Ambassador said that the government of Pakistan is offering many incentives. Also, they are taking steps to ensure ease of doing business. He further added that the present government’s focus is particularly on geo-economics. This approach is facilitating Pakistan to become a hub of economic activities and regional connectivity.

Moreover, he said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is uplifting the socio-economic fabric of Pakistan. Many projects have been completed under CPEC and these projects hold considerable investment opportunities for Chinese companies. He further mentioned that three out of five Special Economic Zones (SEZs) have been developed under the CPEC. They too hold tremendous investment opportunities for Chinese companies.

Furthermore, he said that during the first phase of the CPEC, the focus has been on the improvement of infrastructure, transportation, and energy projects. Now, the focus has been shifted to industrialization, science, and technology as well as poverty alleviation.
