Islamabad, 29 December 2021 (TDI): Chinese Embassy in Pakistan held an awarding ceremony for exceptional Pakistani staff of CPEC projects, today. The ceremony was held to acknowledge the services of the CPEC staff.
During the ceremony, the representatives of the Pakistani staff from three projects were recognized for their commendable services. They are Yousuf Karim of KKH Phrase-II Havelian-Thakot project, Arsalan Khan of Karot Hydropower Project, and Fazal Rahim of Port Qasim power plant, Thakot, and several others.
The Chinese Ambassador, Nong Rong addressed the occasion. Aside from the Ambassador, Ying Xiong, the Chairman of All Pakistan Chinese Enterprises’s Association, Asad Umar, the Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives of Pakistan, and Khalid Mansoor, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on CPEC Affairs also addressed the gathering, respectively.
China Pakistan Economic Corridor
China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and an apt representation of deep-rooted China-Pakistan cooperation for mutual benefit. It is an assortment of infrastructure projects that are under construction throughout Pakistan. The project began in 2013.
The two all-weather partners celebrated 70 years of diplomatic relations this year. What’s more, the CPEC projects have accomplished significant progress in spite of the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The CPEC projects have reached major milestones in 2021 with joint collaboration between China and Pakistan. Therefore, to recognize the contributions; an awarding ceremony was held. Earlier this month, the Suki Kinari Project also reached an important milestone. Suki Kinari Project is a part of CPEC.
CPEC has supported the economy of Pakistan through its strong momentum of development. Also, it is working to ensure that the well-being of the people is improved.
