Chinese Ambassador to UN congratulates President of 76th UNGA

Beijing, 15 September 2021 (TDI): On the opening of the 76th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Chinese permanent ambassador to United Nations Zhang Jun congratulated the President of UNGA Abdullah Shahid. Abdullah Shahid is the foreign minister of Maldives and is now presiding over the 76th United Nations general assembly that opened on the 14th of September.

In his recent tweet, Ambassador Zhang extended his cordial greetings for the new President and wished to work in close accordance with him and invited him to count on Chinese full support to uphold a central role in General Assembly. The Ambassador tweeted:

Amid changing world scenarios, this General Assembly of top officials from all states is considered to bring a paradigm shift. This meeting is expected to bring nations closer, attain peace and harmony among nations and stabilize the international order, as a lot has been changed geopolitically.
