Beijing, 15 September 2021 (TDI): On the opening of the 76th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Chinese permanent ambassador to United Nations Zhang Jun congratulated the President of UNGA Abdullah Shahid. Abdullah Shahid is the foreign minister of Maldives and is now presiding over the 76th United Nations general assembly that opened on the 14th of September.
In his recent tweet, Ambassador Zhang extended his cordial greetings for the new President and wished to work in close accordance with him and invited him to count on Chinese full support to uphold a central role in General Assembly. The Ambassador tweeted:
