Chinese Ambassador meets PM Imran Khan

Islamabad, 13 August 2021 (TDI) Chinese Ambassador Mr. Nong Rong met with Prime Minister Imran Khan today in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador and the Prime Minister reflected on the bilateral relations between China and Pakistan. Not only this, but the two important personalities discussed vaccines, China Pakistan Economic Corridor, and mutual cooperation in various sectors. The Chinese Ambassador gave cordial greetings to Imran Khan from President Xi Jingping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang. He also mentioned Pakistan’s Independence Day which is just around the corner. He gave heartfelt wishes to Pakistan and all those living in the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan gladly reciprocated the greeting of the Chinese Ambassador. He once again appreciated China’s constant support for Pakistan, especially during the covid-19 pandemic. Imran Khan also mentioned vaccines that were available to Pakistan through the COVAX facility. He emphasized that the relationship between the two countries is like ‘iron brothers’ and no one can break this relationship. He went onto add that CPEC is a transformational project, and both countries must work to make CPEC a high-quality Demonstration project. He also clarified that the government s’ aim is to timely complete all the CPEC projects.

Cooperation in trade, commerce, investment, mining and natural resources were also discussed in the meeting.
