China’s Ambassador to Philippines announced supply of 10 million vaccines

Manila, 19 August 2021 (TDI): Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian, in an Interview to Manila times, said that China contributed to the fight Philippines against COVID-19 and decided to supply about 10 million doses of Sinopharm vaccines to Manila. Phillippines will receive the vaccines in two batches within the next two days. Before this Beijing has supplied about 25.5 million doses of vaccines to Manila.
The ambassador told that the Chinese vaccine has turned out to be a major source of vaccination for the Filipinos. Hence, Beijing aimed to enhance the vaccine provision to the Philippines, and during this month China aims to send close to 9 million doses of vaccine to the country. In order to meet the urgent need of vaccine in Philippine, the vaccines arrived from China is near to reach a total number of 10 million doses.
The support both countries have given to each other at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic was also highlighted by Huang. Further, he mentioned bilateral cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Build, Build, Build (BBB) project that played a significant role in fostering the restoration of the Philippines’ economy. In last, he showed the willingness of his country to further enhance the China-Philippine cooperation.
