Beijing, 22 October 2021 (TDI): China has provided 4 million doses of vaccines to Myanmar. Myanmar has been fighting instability and pandemic at the same time. Coronavirus is uncontrollable in Myanmar.

On average 980 new cases are reported each day. People are searching for oxygen cylinders for dear ones. There is a shortage of beds in hospitals. The situation in Myanmar is becoming worse with every passing day.
But China is helping Myanmar in this pandemic, with medical and financial assistance. China has sent another 4 million doses of Sino pharm vaccine for the people of Myanmar.
It is not the first time China has provided vaccines to Myanmar.
China has provided a total of 30.6 million doses of vaccines to Myanmar. Chinese government donated 5.9 doses of vaccines to Myanmar. While the Myanmar government purchased 24.7 million doses of vaccines from China.
China and Myanmar have been building their relations by increase their cooperation. Myanmar has huge importance for China in its project of String of Pearls under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The project is part of China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC).
Myanmar has strategic importance for China as it provides access to China with the Indian Ocean. The two countries look forward to enhancing their cooperation to strengthen bilateral ties.
