China Praises Pakistan Army as ‘Guardian of Friendship’

Islamabad (TDI): China has lauded the Pakistan Army as a “pillar of national stability” and a “strong guardian of China-Pakistan friendship and cooperation,” according to a statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The remarks were made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Islamabad on August 21. The ministry noted that Wang praised the army’s role in supporting the implementation of key understandings reached between the leadership of both nations.

The meeting was part of Wang Yi’s three-day official visit to Pakistan, during which he also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. His visit came amid significant regional and global developments.
