China officially releases Winter Olympics Music Video

Beijing, 21 November 2021 (TDI): China has officially released a music video promoting the motto “Together for a Shared Future” of the Beijing Olympics. The video stars the famous Chinese actor, singer, and dancer, Jackson Yee.

Jackson Yee is famously known as a member of the Chinese boy band TFBOYS. He excelled at dancing early in life. At the age of 5, he earned recognition after winning an international dance contest. He was discovered after participating in a reality talent show.

Ultimately, he debuted with the TFBOYS. At the time of joining the music band, he was just 12 years old.  Jackson Yee made his acting debut in 2015, through the Vietnamese film “Pound of Flesh”. Ever since, he has performed in the Chinese television drama “Song of Phoenix” as well.

Music Video

The music video shows Jackson Yee joyously dancing and singing with a group of small children. It has an upbeat song highlighting winter sports action in the anticipation of the Olympics. The winter sports portrayed in the video include figure skating, curling, and ice hockey.

Mascots of the Winter Olympics

The mascots of the Winter Olympics also make an appearance in the video. Bing Dwen Dwen, is a panda that wears a shell made out of ice whereas Shuey Rhon Rhon is an anthropomorphic Chinese lantern. Earlier, China also released commemorative coins for the Winter Sports.

A mascot is any human, object, an animal used to represent a group with a common public identity, such as a professional sports team, school, or society.

Mascots have been a fundamental component of the Olympic Games since 1968. They’re supposed to inculcate the Olympic spirit, promote the culture and history of the host city; and give the event a celebratory atmosphere.

The upcoming Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will kick off on February 4, next year, and will last until the 20th. China has been preparing for the Olympics with fervor and zeal.

This will make Beijing the first city to host both the Winter and Summer Olympics. The Games will be hosted across three zones in China; Zhangjiakou, Beijing, and Yanqing.
