Beijing, 27 October 2021 (TDI): The Central Bank of China has issued 12 commemorative coins for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

The gold and silver coins feature the official insignia of the 24th Winter Olympics. The observe side portrays snowflakes and the Great Wall of China.

Whereas the reverse side depicts different designs, including ice and snow sports as well as mascots of the 24th Winter Olympics.

Coins introduced on December 1, 2020 in Beijing, China

The first set of commemorative coins was launched in December 2020 and became instantly popular.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, He Jianghai said that the coins are a significant part of the preparation. They will help to spread the Olympic spirit as well as demonstrate Olympic and Chinese traditional culture.

In addition, these coins will promote exchanges and mutual learning between China and other civilizations across the world.

The 2022 Winter Olympics, also known as the XXIV Olympic Winter Games will take place from 4 to 20 February 2022 in Beijing. They will involve international winter multi-sport events.
