Beijing: 10 July 2021 (TDI): On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relations, Chinese premier Li Keqiang exchanged congratulatory messages with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, as he chairs ASEAN for 2021.
In his message, Premier Li while recalling the 30 years’ historic relations between ASEAN and China mentioned that China and ASEAN have been the all-weather partners and the partnership has resulted in regional stabilization and prosperity. Li also appreciated the COVID times’ cooperation between ASEAN and China and mentioned that the cooperation showed the common aim of a better future for humanity by both sides.
‘As the relations between both the sides are entering a new phase, China together with ASEAN is ready to work in order to promote the strategic partnership to higher levels and to build a closer, shared future community for a beneficial future for more than 2 billion people of the 11 member states, said Li.
On behalf of ASEAN, Sultan Hassanal congratulated China on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of relations as well as the 100th anniversary of CPC. Sultan Hassanal also stated that the China-ASEAN partnership over the past 30 years has grown immensely and has become one of the most strategic and comprehensive partnerships in the region.
Hassanal stated that the two sides collaborated in the fight against COVID-19 and increased collaboration in areas such as the economy, trade, and people-to-people interactions. He also appreciated China’s support for ASEAN and mentioned that the relations between both sides will result in a better future for the people of both sides.
