Beijing, 1 December 2021 (TDI): Moin-ul-Haque, the Pakistan ambassador to China signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese Vice-Minister of Culture and Tourism Zhang Xu on expanding bilateral tourism. The MoU signing ceremony was held in the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Beijing.

The two sides agreed to expand their bilateral tourism which will help to further strengthen the people-to-people connections of the two sides in addition to benefitting the economies of the two countries. The MoU was signed on the special event of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
MoU on Tourism is a part of the CPEC
Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral tourism is also part of the Chinese long-term project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). China will also work to upgrade the tourist infrastructure in Pakistan. It will facilitate tourists and will attract more tourism to Pakistan.
The MoU signed on expanding bilateral tourism covers all the aspects of tourism. They will cooperate from policy formulation to expanding business-to-business (B2B) linkages. The agreement also includes the development of tourism products. This will help to stimulate the economy of Pakistan and will be win-win cooperation for the two sides.
The two countries also agreed to establish a Joint Working Group to implement the agreement. The Joint Working Group will make sure that the policies agreed in the MoU are implemented.
China and Pakistan are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The two countries enjoy friendly relations. The two sides share the history of supporting each other in difficult times. China has initiated the project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. China is also committed to social and economic development in Pakistan. The MoU on expanding bilateral tourism will also work under the framework of the CPEC to strengthen the cooperation between the two ironclad friends.
