The protocol signed makes it possible to adjust the benefits provided to nationals of both countries. It also allows for adjusting benefits according to the cost of living in the country where the beneficiaries reside.
Furthermore, the two sides also discussed strengthening the bilateral relations between Chile and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
“The modernization of the Social Security Agreement will benefit the hundreds of Chileans and Dutch nationals. It will allow those who live, work and contribute to their pensions in the other country, providing certainty in paying them,” said Antonia Urrejola.
“The updating of this agreement reflects the excellent state of bilateral relations and the conviction of our two countries. In addition, it will allow us to improve the quality of life of our citizens in favoring actions,” she added.
Likewise, they also discussed trade and economic relations between the two countries. Moreover, Gonsalves highlighted that the Netherlands is the second country in Europe and the fourth worldwide, with the largest FDI in Chile.
“We are ready to continue strengthening our ties, always projecting them to the welfare of our peoples and future generations,” Urrejola said.
