Islamabad, 22 June 2022 (TDI): The Chairman of the Pakistan Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani received a delegation from the Makkah Route Initiative.

The delegates attended the meeting to complete the standard operating procedures for pilgrims. The Makkah Route Initiative delegates are preparing to do the Hajj in Makkah this year.

Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques accompanied the Senate Chairman. The Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, also took part in the meeting.

The meeting’s Senate Chairman, Sanjrani, discussed the friendship that exists between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He described the founding relationship as having a long history based on shared religious and cultural beliefs.

Pakistan has established a pilot project for the new immigration process in 2019. This is due to the deep bilateral relationship between the two nations.

More than 14, 000 Hajj pilgrims have been flown to Saudi Arabia on flights operated by the nation. This year, there has been transportation of Hajj pilgrims by the Route to Makkah initiative out of Islamabad.

In addition to this, he also thought highly of the assistance provided to Pakistan by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in trying times.

The Senate Chairman of Pakistan expressed gratitude to HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He expressed this on behalf of the members of the Senate.

He expressed his gratitude for the helpful assistance the Makkah Route Initiative offers to pilgrims.

The Senate Chairman claims that the Saudi government has modernized Hajj operations by utilizing various forms of technology. The intention is to benefit millions of pilgrims from throughout the world.

Makkah Route Initiative

The Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, noted the extension of the Route to Makkah initiative to Lahore and Karachi in the upcoming year. The ambassador also stated that it would run at full capacity in Islamabad.

Furthermore, the Route to Makkah project, which enables pilgrims to complete all immigration processes at their airport of origin, had an impact on this.

Moreover, the conference attendees praised the Saudi government for its various initiatives. The enlargement of the Two Holy Mosques is one of these projects that helps pilgrims.

The initiatives make it easier for the connection  between Makkah and Madinah. They also permits almost a million pilgrims to participate this year.
