Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s National Assembly of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan, hosted a book launch ceremony for “The History of the Patriotic War: Personality Factor” at the Parliament House, on Thursday.
The book recounts Azerbaijan’s military success in the 44-day Patriotic War, with a focus on the leadership role of its President, Ilham Aliyev.
The Deputy Speaker of National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, participated in the ceremony as the chief guest.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Khazar Farhadov, Türkiye’s Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu, as well as ambassadors of Russia, Uzbekistan, and members of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group also participated actively.
Ambassador Farhadov highlighted the significance of the book as he addressed the ceremony. He said the book offers a detailed narrative of Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War and the strategic vision of President Aliyev, which played a decisive role in the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
“The unwavering support extended by Pakistan and Türkiye during the war is deeply valued by the people of Azerbaijan,” he added. The Urdu edition of the book was also formally presented to Deputy Speaker Shah.

From Pakistan’s political circles, the event was attended by Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Abdul Aleem Khan, Attaullah Tarar, Shaista Pervaiz, Danyal Chaudhary, Fatehullah Khan, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, and others.
Participants echoed the sentiment that literature, especially on historical and national struggles, plays a vital role in promoting mutual understanding and reinforcing shared values among nations.
Azerbaijan and Armenia entered into a peace and normalization treaty on August 8, 2025 as the former has now gained back the Nagorno Karabakh territory which was occupied by the latter.
In Azerbaijan’s modern political history, this is one of the most significant events, and celebrations around it are still fresh.
