Bolivian Chancellor receives the credentials from Sweden, France and the Inter-American Bank

La Paz, 1 October 2021 (TDI): The Bolivian Chancellor, Rogelio Mayta, received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Nicolas Weeks; and from the Ambassador of the French Republic, Hélène Roos.

Mayta also received the Cabinet Letters from Julia Johanssen, the representative of the Inter-American Bank of Development. Bolivia established relations with Sweden in 1931. France and Bolivia established relations in 1831. With the Inter-American Bank, Bolivia is one of its founders.

According to the IBD, or BID; their goal is to improve the life quality in the American countries, and the Caribbean. To achieve it, the Bank helps to improve health, education, and infrastructure with economic and technical aid. It is equally important to mention that the Bank is the main source of financing, for the development of American countries and the Caribbean.

BOLIVIA-SWEDEN RELATIONS

The relations of Bolivia and Sweden, according to the Swedish Embassy, is to promote their relations. First, promoting political dialogue then commerce, and last, cooperation for sustainable development; through the Swedish Agency for International Development.

Also, it is important to say that Sweden is the most important donor to the UN system in Bolivia. The 2016-2020 agenda sought to promote gender equality, greater respect for human rights, and to strengthen the democracy. Then the other objectives of the Agenda were to reduce the negative impacts climate change. Last, that it was necessary to improve the opportunities of vulnerable people.

BOLIVIA-FRANCE RELATIONS

On the other hand, according to the European Foreign Affairs Ministry; the Bolivia and France relations, both have cultural, scientific, economic, and development cooperation. The activities of France, in the cultural cooperation, are meetings with french artists.

Finally, the Ministry mentions that the Research and Development Center has one of the biggest representations in “Latin” America. Or the fact that France is the 4th country that receives more Bolivian students, and that France is the 6th scientific partner of Bolivia.
