Washington D.C., 12 November 2021, (TDI): Yesterday, US State Secretary Antony Blinken participated at the 51st General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS). The General Assembly took place on Thursday at the Hall of the Americas in Washington D.C.
US State Secretary hopes to renew the organization’s spirit as the region recovers from the pandemic. They aspire to recover by bringing good governance, adopting transparency, combating corruption, and making sure that democracy is working for the people. OAS and USA want to work together to rebuild the economy, protect human rights and bring social justice.

About the Organization of American States (OAS)
OAS is a regional organization. It came into being in the mid of twentieth century. The organization’s goal is to maintain peace and stability in the region. Moreover, it is a platform for regional collaboration and the protection of sovereignty from the western hemisphere. The organization has four main pillars democracy, security of the region, economic development, and the promotion of human rights.
