Beijing, 11 September 2021 (TDI): The President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and President Joe Biden of the United States of America (USA) had a telephonic talk on Friday calling to mend the ties. The conversation of both leaders lasted for 90 minutes covering many matters.
Xi stressed getting the ties right and standing in cooperation instead of indulging in the confrontations. “With both countries joining hands, the world will reap benefits,” says the Chinese President. Both sides called for advance cooperation on climate catastrophe, coronavirus response, and post-pandemic economic recovery.
“The two leaders had a broad, strategic discussion in which they discussed areas where our interests converge and areas where our interests, values, and perspectives diverge. They agreed to engage on both sets of issues openly and straightforwardly discussed the responsibility of both nations to ensure competition does not veer into conflict,” as per White House.
