Islamabad, 30 May 2023 (TDI): On a two-day official visit, Sergei Aleinik, the Belarusian Foreign Minister, expressed his commitment to strengthening the cordial relationship between his country and Pakistan.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Aleinik held constructive conversations with his Pakistani counterpart, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Foreign Minister Aleinik stated that Belarus will always be a friendly partner for Pakistan. He expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him during his visit, underscoring his confidence in the bright future of the Belarus-Pakistan partnership.

One of the most noteworthy successes of the visit was the signing of the Agreement on Visa Abolition for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports between Pakistan and Belarus. This agreement intends to improve interaction and exchanges between the two countries by making travel easier for diplomats and government officials.

Both foreign ministers acknowledged the significance of this agreement in enhancing bilateral relationships and establishing deeper diplomatic relations.

In addition, Belarusian and Pakistani Foreign Ministers conducted in-depth discussions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to reiterate their nations’ long-term objectives for the alliance. They decided to strengthen economic links, widen trade and investment possibilities, encourage scientific cooperation, advance cultural exchanges, and intensify interpersonal relationships.

Foreign Ministers Aleinik and Zardari erected a friendship tree on the Foreign Office Lawn to commemorate Belarus and Pakistan’s long friendship. This gesture signifies the commitment to nurturing the bilateral relationship and promoting mutual understanding and cooperation.
