Islamabad, 28 December 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, held a telephone conversation with the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Both officials discussed matters of common interest and the prospects of enhancing relations between Pakistan and Bahrain in multiple domains.
Shehbaz Sharif invited Hamad bin Isa to the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan, which will take place in Geneva on January 23, 2023. Pakistan and the United Nations will co-host (UN).
Sharif requested that the Bahraini delegation participate actively. Recalling the current flood catastrophe in Pakistan, Sharif praised the King for the Bahraini government’s support and aid to flood victims in Pakistan.

During his turn, Hamad bin Isa expressed deep grief over the devastation caused by unprecedented floods in Pakistan.
He also voiced strong support for steps to boost Pakistan’s response during the repair and rehabilitation phase following Pakistan’s floods caused by climate change.
The King assured full participation on behalf of Bahrain’s government in the upcoming conference.
Bahrain’s support during Flood
King of Bahrain’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, visited Pakistan in September. He expressed solidarity with the flood victims and people of Pakistan on behalf of the Bahrain government.
The Representative made an assessment of the losses and announced to help the needy generously. He distributed urgent relief aid.
Shaikh Nasser met with authorities concerned in Pakistan in the presence of Bahrain’s Ambassador Muhammad Ebrahim Muhammad Abdulqader.
Pakistan-Bahrain bilateral ties
Bahrain and Pakistan have extremely good and amicable connections. Bahrain has an embassy in Islamabad as well as a Consulate-General in Karachi. Similarly, Pakistan has an embassy in Manama.

Both countries are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Group of 77. Additionally, Bahrain is home to a large Pakistani diaspora in the Gulf Region.
