Azerbaijan’s President congratulates Gold Medalists at Tokyo Paralympics

Baku, 28 August 2021 (TDI): Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, congratulated athletes of Azerbaijan’s Paralympic team, Shahana Hajiyeva, Vugar Shirinli, and Raman Saleh. He expressed his gratitude for giving Azerbaijan the joy of winning at the Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020. He wished them and the rest of the team members success in the future. Khazar Farhadov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, also praised the three athletes on their gold medals for Azerbaijan.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games began on August 24 and will continue until September 5, 2021. Azerbaijan’s first gold medals at the Paralympics were won by Shahana Hajiyeva, Vugar Shirinli, and Raman Saleh in Tokyo Paralympics 2020. Shahan Hajiyeva won the Judo final after defeating her French opponent Sandrine Martinet. Vugar Shirinli won gold in Judo, and Raman Saleh won gold in Para-Swimming.
