Azerbaijan Extends Condolences to Russia

Baku, 11 October 2021 (TDI): Azerbaijan expressed sincere condolences to the families of the victims of a tragic plane crash in the Republic of Tatarstan. The aircraft with parachutists crashed on Sunday, 10 October.

The aircraft was carrying 20 parachutists and 2 crew members. The Health Ministry reported that 16 people have been killed and 6 were severely injured. The twin-engine plane L-410 failed to gain height and crashed shortly after the take-off. This is the third L-410 plane crash in Russia since June, this year.

The head of the Tatarstan region, Rustam Minnikhanov, stated that one of the engines of the plane failed. The pilots reported, at the height of 70 meters, the left engine has failed. He also tried for an emergency landing near the city of Menzelinsk to avoid the inhabited area.
