Jakarta, 6 September 2021 (TDI): The ASEAN Secretariat along with the East Asia Business Council arranged a webinar discussion on Rules of Origin, Customs Practices, and Trade Facilitation for The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
Last year, the ASEAN Member States signed the free trade deal, the RCEP Agreement. It is the largest free trade agreement of ASEAS states, which covers 30 percent of the global GDP with a market comprising 2.2 billion population.
The webinar was a continuation of a series of discussions on “Unlocking RCEP for BUiness: Trade in Goods”. In the latest webinar, experts discussed how various Chapters of the trade agreement can facilitate Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Regional eligibility and tariff preferences for private and public organizations and businesses as well as inclusive practices by trade partners were also discussed.
