Islamabad, 12 August 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, Federal Minister Asad Umar called the meeting of CCoCPEC (Cabinet committee on CPEC) under his chairmanship. The meeting was attended by Minister of Finance Shaukat Tareen, Minister of Energy Hammad Azhar, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, and many other government officials.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the under-going industrial projects, Gwadar Port Marketing Plan, Energy, and other infrastructure projects of CPEC.

On submission of a summary given by the Power Division for the acceleration of the power supply to Gwadar, the committee allowed NTDC (National Transmission & Despatch Company) to change its working agency and to accelerate its work to ensure the completion of projects by 2023.

CCoCPEC also allowed the Power division sector to import more power supply from Iran. ‘Dedicated power supply to Gwadar Industrial Zone must be ensured’, said Asad Umar.
