Islamabad/Kabul (TDI): Police have discovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including a DSHK-type anti-aircraft gun, in the Almar district in Faryab province, close to the Afghanistan-Iran border, on Monday.
A statement issued by local Police said an assault rifle, a mortar weapon, three sets of walkie-talkies, countless shells, and additional military equipment were also found and seized in the area.

The local police chief has appealed to the people that anyone who keeps arms and military equipment illegally must immediately return to the police.
The regional countries has already expressed about presence of arms illegal ammunitions and militants groups operating in the country.

From security point of view in the war-battered country, the Afghan caretaker government has collected a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including battle tanks and anti-aircraft guns since assuming power in August 2021.
