Islamabad (TDI): UK High Commissioner Jane Marriott called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral ties, regional and global matters of mutual interest.
The also exchanged views on expanding cooperation at the multilateral fora, especially at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Last week, Jane Marriott also met with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to discuss bilateral parliamentary and diplomatic ties, as well as regional and global developments and issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Chairman Senate said that Islamabad greatly values its long-standing, strong and enduring ties with the United Kingdom, built on shared history, values, and traditions.
He expressed hope that Pakistan and the UK could take their partnership to the next level.
The two officials comprehensively talked about regional peace and security.
Gilani thanked the UK for efforts to ease tensions between Pakistan and India and called for more cooperation to fight terrorism, especially threats coming from across the Afghan border.

Jane Marriott thanked Gilani for the warm welcome and promised the UK’s support for peace and progress in the region.
Both agreed to keep working together to expand cooperation in the coming months.
