Peshawar, 9 August 2022 (TDI): U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome visited Peshawar on Saturday. During his trip to Peshawar, the Ambassador visited the Peshawar Burns and Plastic Surgery Center.

Burns and Plastic Surgery Center:
The Center was established with the support of the US government. A $15 million grant from USAID was used to build and equip the center. It is one of the biggest centers in this domain in Pakistan. Each year more than 1,000 patients get treated at this center in KPK and Afghanistan.

Consequently, more than 5000 patients have been treated at the center. The U.S. Ambassador expressed his joy in visiting the center. He said he was pleased to see so many lives treated in the center.

Moreover, the Ambassador also highlighted the way the center stood as an embodiment of US-Pakistan friendship.
He was updated about the fact that the center is the biggest bed facility in Pakistan. Moreover, the center also provides specialized care for women and children.

Since its opening, the center has become a ray of hope and health for many, which pleased the Ambassador.
USAID in KPK:
The U.S. government did a $127 million partnership to advance the learning methodology in energy, food security, and water. The USAID in Peshawar has significantly advanced developmental and agricultural sectors.

Furthermore, the aid also facilitated the region’s Justice system and will contribute to its stability and growth.
This aid built a 1,240 km road in Peshawar to facilitate farmers in transmitting goods and services. 1,300 new projects to improve irrigation and clean water distribution.
Additionally, the US government has contributed more than $800,000 to preserving cultural assets through six Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation projects in KP since 2002.
Recently, The Department of Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received 36 vehicles from Ambassador Blome and USAID Mission Director Reed Aeschliman. It is part of the US
government’s assistance to Pakistan in containing the COVID-19 pandemic.
