Islamabad, 22 June 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of Qatar Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met with Speaker National Assembly to discuss issues of bilateral levels.

Both sides exchanged views about the growing bilateral ties. They discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them and other issues of common interest.

 

The Qatari-Pakistani relations are characterized by depth and strength in various fields, since the beginning of diplomatic relations in the early seventies.

Relations between the two brotherly countries have been strengthened by mutual visits between the two countries at the highest levels, during which a large number of agreements were signed in the fields of politics, economy, trade exchanges, investments, culture, education, and other important fields for the two countries.

Pakistan has become the largest beneficiary of Qatar’s initiative to educate ten million out-of-school children around the world, as the State of Qatar supported the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training to launch a program to educate one million out-of-school children in Pakistan, under an agreement signed in 2018.

The Lives and Livelihoods Fund, which is chaired by the Qatar Fund for Development during the period 2019-2020, is financing the project “Supporting the National Polio Eradication Program for the period 2019-2022”. It aims to help the Pakistani government improve the condition of 39.2 million children under five years of age.

The budget of this project is 570 million US dollars, and the project extends over a period of two years. The project includes the following activities:

Get vaccinations.
Immunizations.
Social awareness.
Observe acute flaccid paralysis
