Islamabad, 21 July 2022 (TDI): Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini, the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan met Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, the Federal Minister of Pakistan for Human Rights.

Afzal Latif, Secretary of Human Rights, and other senior officials of the Ministry were also in attendance. Both sides enunciated resolve to boost bilateral collaboration in the domain of human rights.

Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada welcomed Ambassador Hosseini. During the meeting, he highlighted the fraternal ties spanning more than seven decades between the two countries emanating from cultural, religious, and historical commonalities.

Whilst the Ambassador of Iran on his part extended his congratulations to the Minister of Human Rights on assuming the role along with the successful achievement of multifarious political assignments.

Also, Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini stated Iran’s willingness to enhance mutual collaboration in the field of Human Rights as well as especially judicial cooperation.

Along these lines, he further articulated that the Government of Iran is particularly focused on the rights of women as well as women empowerment.

He went on to emphasize the significance of having strong business and economic relations and maximum cooperation in the exchange of prisoners.

Aside from that the Iranian Ambassador also invited the Pakistani Minister to visit Iran for the ceremony in August where a sideline meeting would also be arranged to improve bilateral collaboration in the area of human rights.

Likewise, he also mentioned two MoUs between the governments of Pakistan and Iran pertaining to extradition/exchange of prisoners along with the protection and promotion of human rights.

In the same vein, Ambassador Hosseini highlighted the need for partnership amongst Muslim states to confront the issues of islamophobia and blasphemy.

He lauded the role played by Pakistan on diplomatic fronts to counter the menace of Islamophobia. Furthermore, the Minister for Human Rights emphasized the immense prospects for partnership between the two contiguous countries.

He shared that the people of Pakistan have deep respect for Iran because of the facilities that the Iranian government has been providing for pilgrimages, particularly on the border of Taftan.

Lastly, Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada stated that Pakistan derives inspiration for human rights from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم).

However, prevalently the world is unfortunately ruled by those human rights promulgators who themselves have committed severe human rights violations.

Moreover, he also congratulated the Iranian government on its perseverance and resilience in tackling the decades-long propaganda as well as economic sanctions imposed by the US and West.
