Jakob Linulf performed the role of Deputy Program Director at Copenhagen’s Energistyrelsen from March 2008 to April 2010.
During this term, he was in charge of the Danish Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) programs.

Among his duties were acquiring carbon credits from CDM and JI projects, overseeing project portfolios, assisting in the setting up of carbon projects, and offering businesses carbon trade advice under the EU Emission Trading Scheme.
Furthermore, Jakob encouraged technology transfers for clean energy projects, lobbied for CDM initiatives in Least Developed Countries, and helped shape JI and CDM policy.
2010 onwards: Danish diplomats career record
Jakob Linulf has extensive experience working in the renewable energy field. He was the Head of Project Development for Centrica Energy in Aalborg, Denmark, from April 2010 to October 2011.
In this capacity, he oversaw a joint equity investment facility with the Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU) of the Danish government, which was primarily focused on investments in solar and wind power generation in Southeast Asia, China, and India.
In addition, he was in charge of business development in India for power trading and wind park management, as well as carbon offset trading and renewable energy certificates.

From November 2011 to July 2014, he served as Chief Advisor at Udenrigsministeriet, where he focused on energy and climate projects, international climate efforts, export promotion, and technology transfer.
Jakob was Deputy Head of Department at the Trade Council from August 2014 to July 2016, where he led the Strategy and Policy section.
He was later appointed Head of Trade in Beijing, China, from August 2016 until August 2018.
From September 2018 to February 2021, Jakob served as Consul General in Shanghai City, China, continuing his diplomatic career.
He later served as Dean of Shanghai’s Diplomatic Corps from March 2021 to September 2022.
Ambassador Linulf’s tenure in Pakistan:
Jakob is currently the Ambassador to Pakistan, having held the office since September 2022. He is a strong proponent of green diplomacy in Pakistan.
The primary objectives of Ambassador Jakob Linulf’s visit to Pakistan from Denmark are to strengthen bilateral ties by promoting joint business ventures, people-to-people interactions, and green collaboration.
He also intends to expand tourism and cross-cultural connections between the two nations, boost Danish exports and investment, and strengthen Pakistan’s climate resilience by leveraging Denmark’s expertise in water management and renewable energy.
