Islamabad, 10 June 2022 (TDI): President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi met the Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to the Republic of Poland, Dr. Khalid Hussain Memon.

The meeting took place at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today. During the meeting, the President of Pakistan stated that Pakistan valued its relations with the Republic of Poland immensely.

Moreover, Pakistan wants to further boost bilateral ties with Poland in the domains of trade, people-to-people linkages, and economy.

Along these lines, the President urged for further expanding bilateral trade and economic relations through the establishment of a Joint Business Forum to promote collaboration with Polish enterprises in the energy sector.

Likewise, he asked the Envoy to ensure Poland’s continued support during the ongoing review process for the renewal of the GSP+ status of Pakistan.

President Alvi directed the Ambassador to spotlight Pakistan’s rich potential for tourism to facilitate the influx of tourists along with promoting people-to-people ties with Poland.

In the same vein, he added that the Representative ought to encourage the establishment of institutional exchanges between the Pakistani and Polish universities.

This would cement relations in the education field by helping to improve the quality of education as well as research of the universities in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the President asked the Ambassador-designate to work for increasing the export of Pakistani manpower to Poland. The President also congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Poland.

Lastly, he expressed the hope that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Poland would be further strengthened during his tenure in the country.
