Islamabad, 10 June 2022 (TDI): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan organized a special event in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Islamabad to commemorate the 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two fraternal countries.

Along these lines, a photo exhibition at the Foreign Office was organized to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, Sohail Mahmood along with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Khazar Farhadov formally inaugurated the photo exhibition.
The displayed photographs were curated meticulously to portray the chronicles of the leadership-level engagement between the two nations.
Likewise, photographs of important milestones in the bilateral relationship were also displayed in the exhibition.
Whilst addressing the guests, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood highlighted that the evolution of Pakistan-Azerbaijan ties has been strong giving way to multi-faceted cooperation ever since the formal establishment of bilateral ties in 1992.
He highlighted that the two countries had a long-standing tradition of supporting each other on their issues of core interest.
The Foreign Secretary of Pakistan underscored Pakistan’s support for Azerbaijan’s stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh. In the same vein, he lauded Azerbaijan’s principled position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
In addition, the Foreign Secretary noted that Azerbaijan as a member of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir had been consistently advocating for the rights of the people of Kashmiri people.
Aside from that, he reiterated the resolve of Pakistan to deepen its partnership with Azerbaijan, significantly in the economic, trade, and cultural realms.
Ambassadors and senior diplomats from the Central Asian States as well as Turkey grace the occasion with their presence. Furthermore, members of the media and representatives from the Multicultural Center of Azerbaijan also participated.
It is pertinent to note here that the Multicultural Center of Azerbaijan as a symbol of strong ties between the two countries, has recently been established at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad.
