Islamabad, 11 August 2021 (TDI): The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong met chairman Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain today. During the meeting, both sides had a detailed conversation on the recent Dasu incident in which 9 Chinese officials lost their lives.
The Bus incident halted the construction process of the Dasu Hydropower project. During the meeting, both sides discussed the resumption of the construction process at the site. The arrangements of security for the Chinese workers at the site were also under discussion.
Chairman WAPDA assured Amb. Nong that a safe and secure environment for all the Chinese workers working on projects under WAPDA will be provided.
Ambassador Nong also thanked the Pakistani government on behalf of the Chinese government for providing a secure environment for the Chinese workers.
