Afghan President Ashraf Ghani leaves the country


Kabul, 15 August 2021 (TDI): According to TOLO News, Ashraf Ghani, the President of Afghanistan, and his close associates had left the country and leave for Tajikistan after the Taliban entered Kabul on Sunday. Earlier, Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, Defense Minister of Afghanistan, stated that President Ghani has delegated authority to political leaders to resolve the ongoing crisis. He further added that a delegation will head to Doha on Monday to discuss the situation in Afghanistan. Among the prominent political figures of the delegation are Younus Qanooni, Ahmad Wali Massoud, and Mohammad Mohaqiq.

According to Taliban sources, it has been decided that Ghani will resign following a political deal and give the control to a transitional government.
