Kabul, 7 October 2021 (TDI): The acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov.
The agenda of the meeting was to create a solid foundation of bilateral ties. The two parties discussed the ongoing situation of Afghanistan. They talked about ways and strategies that could promote peace and stability in the country. Moreover, these two leaders also shed light on trade, investments, and economy-related topics.
Uzbekistan made use of robust diplomacy with the Taliban. Uzbek participation with the Taliban is explained by proximity. The Uzbek government has definitely chosen positive engagement over conflict. Furthermore, Uzbekistan has let foreign organizations transit Afghans and others across its territory.
