Afghan Ambassador called back to Kabul

Islamabad, 18 July 2021 (TDI): In a twist of events unfolding, the Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs called back its Ambassador and senior diplomats in Islamabad back to Kabul. The ministry tweeted a few moments ago the announcement about calling back the Afghan Ambassador to Islamabad after the abduction of the Afghan Ambassador’s daughter in Islamabad on Friday.

 

The statement says that the Ambassador has been called back until all security threats are addressed including the arrest and trial of the perpetrators of abduction. The statement also reads that an Afghan delegation will visit Islamabad soon to assess the follow-up on the case and all related matters and actions will be taken based on the findings.

On Friday Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan’s daughter was abducted and tortured in Islamabad. Investigations are underway and the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Foreign Affairs are following up on the situation after the strict and clear directions from Prime Minister Imran Khan.
