Beijing, 6 August 2021 (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, via a video link hosted the first meeting of the International Forum on COVID-19 vaccine cooperation on Thursday. The theme of the meeting was based on promoting and strengthening international cooperation for fair and equal distribution of vaccines around the globe.
Chinese FM Wang Yi hosted the meeting and President Xi Jinping also sent a written message to address the meeting. The Foreign Ministers, Health Ministers, Deputy Prime ministers, and higher representatives of different states from East Asia, Europe, Africa, Southern America, Asia, and the Middle Eastern region participated in the meeting.
Representatives from vaccine manufacturing companies from all around the globe along with representatives from international organizations including the UN and WHO also became a part of this meeting. The meeting also adopted the Joint Statement of the International Forum on COVID-19 Vaccine Cooperation.
