New York, 3 October 2021 (TDI): On Friday, Zhang Jun, the permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, congratulated Natalia Kanem on re-appointment as Executive Director of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). He expressed her gratitude and warm pleasure on re-appointment and showed a willingness to work together to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Furthermore, the Chinese government highly acknowledges the support for China-UNFPA collaborative efforts which deliver transformative results in development and humanitarian settings. Zhang also said that he is truly enthusiastic to work side by side with Natalia in the incredible team.

The General-Secretary of United Nations, Antonio Guterres has noted his work efficiency to advocate sexual and reproductive health agendas to address population issues and then he re-appointed him as Executive Director. Earlier, Natalia Kanem joined UNFPA in 2014 being a country representative of the United Republic of Tanzania, and in 2016 she was named as Assistant Secretary-General.
