Doha (TDI): President Asif Ali Zardari met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in Doha to discuss expanding bilateral relations, boosting trade, and enhancing investment opportunities.
The meeting also highlighted Qatar’s ongoing investments in Pakistan’s stock market and the two nations’ shared commitment to regional peace, particularly in Afghanistan and the broader Middle East.
President Zardari praised the Qatari leadership for its measures to safeguard national security amid Israeli aggression and lauded Qatar’s efforts in this regard.

He also commended Qatar for the successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the exemplary measures taken during the event.
The Qatari Prime Minister acknowledged the bravery of the Pakistani nation and Armed Forces during the recent Pakistan-India conflict and expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s resilience. He also emphasized the hope that ongoing initiatives in Afghanistan would lead to lasting peace and stability.

President Zardari invited the Qatari leadership to invest in Pakistan, specifically in the stock exchange, to which the Qatari Prime Minister responded that Qatar is already investing in the Pakistan Stock Exchange and intends to increase the volume of its investments.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.
