Chengdu (TDI): Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, who is currently on a 10-day visit to China, addressed the Second Golden Panda Awards International Culture Forum in Chengdu, where he highlighted the power of art and culture in uniting people and connecting civilizations.
The Forum was attended by Chinese leaders, cultural representatives, artists, and international delegates. The President congratulated the award winners and appreciated their creativity.
He noted that such artistic endeavors transcend borders and bring people together through shared human values, thanking the government of Sichuan Province, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the organizers for hosting the Forum.
President Zardari extended Pakistan’s complete support for China’s vision of “civilization exchange and mutual learning” and emphasized the significance of China’s Global Initiatives.
He observed that the world is undergoing dramatic changes, and praised China and President Xi Jinping for offering a path of cooperation and win-win solutions instead of confrontation. He said he was impressed by how these initiatives serve the common values of humanity.

As Pakistan and China prepare to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, the President said that this partnership remains not only strategic but also a living testimony of the deep bonds of friendship between their peoples.
Earlier on Saturday, the Pakistani President met Li Shulei, Member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department.
Li said that both he and President Xi value President Zardari’s role in strengthening bilateral ties, stressing, “The world is changing, but China and Pakistan will remain iron-clad brothers. Today, the world needs and deserves the fragrance of books rather than the smell of gunpowder.”
The agenda of Zardari’s visit covers a wide range of issues tied to Pakistan–China relations. Discussions will focus on expanding economic and trade partnerships, strengthening collaboration on the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and exploring future connectivity projects.
