New York, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs of Yemen met with Paulino Franco, the Brazilian Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Multiple Diplomatic Affairs.
The theme of the meeting was to enhance mutually beneficial relations between the two states. The Minister of Yemen discussed the international and regional efforts to restore peace in his country.

A political solution is the only way forward to the Yemen conflict. Pertaining to that, he expressed his government’s resolve to overcome the hurdles. The Minister further conveyed that the priority of the Yemeni government was to restore the peace.
The Brazilian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, on the other hand, communicated the sympathetic stance of his country. He also stated that the issue needed to be resolved in accordance with international law.
Other participants of the meeting were the permanent representative of Yemen to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Ali Al-Saadi, and the representative of Brazil in New York, Ambassador Ronaldo Costa.
Yemen-Brazil Ties
Brazil and Yemen collaborate in a myriad of domains to strengthen relations. These include collaboration in diplomacy, politics, and the economy.
Brazil supports the legitimate government of Yemen led by President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi. Brazil wishes for the return of peace and prosperity in the near future for the historically and culturally rich Arab country of Yemen.
Likewise, it wishes that the Yemeni people will be able to find a path to stability. The two countries collaborate on a range of bilateral and regional issues.
They have also signed agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs). The Brazilian government has incessantly urged dialogue to solve the crisis in Yemen.
The two countries have also signed agreements to promote food security and agricultural growth to boost ties.
