Beijing, 4 July 2023 (TDI): Today, Chinese President Xi Jinping urged members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to unite, build trust, and move in the right direction. He made these remarks during Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) virtual summit held today.

In his statement, he emphasized that members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should strengthen strategic communication and coordination. This entails enhancing the exchange of information, ideas, and perspectives among member nations to foster a deeper understanding and alignment of their strategic objectives.

Furthermore, he stressed the significance of resolving differences through dialogue. This highlights the need for peaceful and diplomatic discussions to address any disagreements or conflicts that may arise within the SCO. By engaging in constructive conversations, member countries can seek mutually acceptable solutions and maintain harmonious relationships.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of transcending competition through cooperation. This implies that instead of viewing each other solely as rivals, SCO members should embrace a collaborative approach. By pooling their resources, expertise, and efforts, member nations can effectively tackle shared challenges, promote regional stability, and achieve common goals.

Moreover, he underscored the need to earnestly respect each other’s core interests and major concerns. This calls for recognizing and valuing the fundamental interests and significant concerns of each member nation within the SCO. Respecting these core interests fosters mutual trust, strengthens unity, and promotes a balanced and inclusive approach to decision-making within the organization.
