President Xi Jinping pointed out that 2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the African Union (AU).
The AU has been actively exploring development trails in conformity to African conditions by holding the banner of building a stronger African continent high via unity over the past 20 years.
The Chinese President further remarked that the organization has made significant accomplishments in regional integration along with coordinating the solidarity of African countries to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
What’s more, AU has vigorously protected the peace, stability, as well as development of the African continent by spearheading the persistent elevation of Africa’s global impact and reputation.

For instance, last November, the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was held with flying colors.
He further pointed out that during the conference, he himself announced “nine programs” under the first three-year plan of the China-Africa Cooperation Vision 2035.
Moreover, he joined the present African leaders in the consentient support of creating a China-Africa community with a common future in the new epoch.
Xi Jinping enunciated that China stands ready to collaborate with the African side to actively implement the outcomes of FOCAC meetings.
Likewise, it is willing to advance the in-depth synergy amongst Belt and Road cooperation, the AU’s Agenda 2063, the Global Development Initiative, and the building of the Free Trade Area.
This will be done with the intent of bringing the China-Africa partnership to a more elevated level with more comprehensive fields, along with writing a new chapter in the China-Africa camaraderie.
The 35th AU Summit was being held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 55 African countries participated in the summit. Addis Ababa hosts the summit on a yearly basis.
