Xi Jinping highlights importance of modernization for China & World at high-level meeting

Beijing, 15 March 2023 (TDI): Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee & Chinese President, attended the opening ceremony of the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting.

The meeting was conducted via a video link where the President of China delivered a keynote address. He underlined the necessity of modernization in China.

Xi believes that modernization should prioritize people’s desires for a better life and the advancement of civilization.

He emphasized that modernization should accomplish material wealth, political integrity, cultural-ethical enrichment, social stability, and a pleasant living environment in order to answer people’s problems and suit their diverse requirements.

Xi underlined that modernization is not the sole domain of a few countries and that each country must examine its own traits and national situations in order to accomplish modernization.

Additionally, modernization is the consequence of hard work and a strong historical initiative. In pursuing modernization, China will not follow the old path of colonization and plunder.

Nor will it follow the crooked path chosen by certain countries to pursue hegemony once they become powerful.

According to the President of China, modernization should support the long-term growth of mankind, raise the well-being of this generation, and defend the rights and interests of future generations.

Xi remarked that the Chinese route to modernization is a guaranteed path for China to develop a stronger nation and achieve Chinese nation rejuvenation.

Chinese modernization is also a road that China must adopt in order to achieve progress for humanity and global harmony.

The Chinese route to modernization bears traces of history and traditional culture, as well as modern components. It benefits not only the Chinese people but also global development as a whole.

Finally, Xi stated that the CPC will continue to promote international fairness and justice, as well as world peace and stability.
