Beijing, 1 October 2021 (TDI): Xi Jinping, China’s President, congratulated and gave a welcome speech on Friday via video link to mark the China Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai’s official opening in the United Arab Emirates.
The Expo’s theme is “Connecting minds, Creating the future” as it is marked as the Middle East’s first international Expo. This highlights the importance of the Expo as a platform for countries to share their ideas and achievements in economic and social development.
“Where is the future of humanity?” Before he offered China’s solution, however, Xi asked. He said that China has asked the whole world to join hands to bolster global governance, foster innovation-driven economic growth, and make it more sustainable. Moreover, he stated that China is open to cooperation and exchanges with the world during the process.
Presenting the China Pavilion, President Xi Jinping said it highlights China’s accomplishments in sectors for instance space exploration, information technology, and smart living. Thus, he concluded his speech by wishing Expo 2020 Dubai a great success.
Previously, it was delayed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic but now Expo 2020 Dubai will run from October 1, 2021, up to March 31, 2022.
